A Little Magic, A Lot of Reading

Thank you all for being so patient – it has been way too long since I posted something to my blog! Things have been a little crazy on my side, but, rather than focusing on that, I want to focus on a couple of spells I’ve done, each came from creators on Tik Tok, and, their focus aligns with what I’ve read about the herbs and color magic they incorporate.

The first one is a full moon money spell (This one is courtesy of @shawtymomsta on Tik Tok – and for it, you will need a glass bowl, a seven coins, two cinnamon sticks, some ground garden sage (DO NOT USE WHITE SAGE – pick up some sage in the spices/seasonings section at your local grocery store – this is the stuff to use!), and some water. Here’s what you do:

1)     Fill your bowl halfway with water

2)     Drop your coins in a circle

3)     Add your ground garden sage to your bowl

4)     Stir clockwise with a cinnamon stick

5)     Cross the cinnamon sticks

6)     Set it outside in the moon light and state your intentions three times. The poster said the following if you want to use it:

“Lovely lady of the moon

Bring me your wealth quite soon

Fill my hands with silver and gold,

All you can, my purse can hold.”

7)     The next morning, pour out the water and put the coins in a satchel to keep close to you. I poured my water into my little mint plant.

Now, the above is great, but, the next full moon isn’t until November 8. If you want to do an abundance spell before then, you can try the following – which I did yesterday – you’ll need one apple, a few bay leaves, a piece of paper with your intention writton on it, some twine, and a green candle with your intention carved into it. I couldn’t find the creator of this little one, but it goes as follows:

1)     Take your apple and cut it in half through the middle, so you’re able to see the little star of seeds at its core.

2)     Add bay leaves with your intentions on each (you can write them, or concentrate on them)

3)     Add the paper with your intention (this can be folded or open – I chose to fold mine)

4)     Place the top of the apple over the bottom

5)     Wrap your apple tightly with twine to close it

6)     Place your candle on top (preferably green, but white will suffice) of the apple and light it.

7)     Add basil and cinnamon for success and wealth – I also added mint for monetary abundance.

8)     Once your candle has burned out, plant it in your yard.

For that last step, since I don’t have a yard, I planted it in a pot. And, as luck would have it, I accidentally sprouted some pumpkin seeds, so I planted those over the spell. I figured this would be a good use, since pumpkin symbolizes several things, including protection and prosperity.

In addition to the little spells I’ve been doing, I’ve also been doing a lot of reading as of late. I’m the kind of person who reads several books at once, so currently, this is my reading list (and, it doesn’t include everything, if I’m being honest):

-        WITCH – this is a book by Lisa Lester, who is a hereditary and eclectic witch.

-         Wild Magic – This is a book by Danu forest, but I’m finding that because I have no interest in interacting with the Fae, I am quickly losing interest in this book. I’ll finish it, because I do think the information is probably worth knowing (even if I don’t use it), but it might take me longer than I previously thought.

-        The Book of Divination – This is by Michael Johnstone and I think is mostly out of print. It goes over a wide array of subjects from Tarot to Dream interpretation – once I’ve finished it, I’ll post my full thoughts on it.

-        The Women’s Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets – Holy shit, this book by Barbara G. Walker is pretty good so far – and I’m not terribly far (it is an encyclopedia, after all). In her introduction, Walker perfectly sums up Christianity:

“As a salvation cult, early Christianity based its scheme of redemption on the premise of female wickedness.” Calling Christianity a salvation cult with a scheme of redemption is as accurate as it is awesome – and I am HERE FOR IT! I can’t wait to get further in, and let you all know what I think.

I hope everyone’s week goes well, and that you add some magic to your day 😊
